Almost ready to go!

Our trip begins in Iceland on Sept. 14th….stay tuned!  In the meantime, read “About Us” to see how this trip got started.  And just to give you a little taste of what’s to come, Kevin and I wanted to show you what our two cruise ships look like.

Regent Seven Seas Explorer

We will be aboard the Regent Seven Seas Explorer for 22 days, going from London to Venice.  Here’s a short video overview of the ship:

Holland America ms Westerdam

We will board our second cruise in Venice (we will literally get off the Explorer, walk to the next pier, and get on the next ship).  This cruise will be 12 days long, and will go from Venice to Rome (via Greece), and we will be aboard the Holland America ms Westerdam.  Holland America has no snazzy video to accompany its ship like Regent does, so here’s a link to the description page on their website:

I’m excited be on the Westerdam again; we did our Alaska cruise on that ship two years ago.  Just this year, Holland America completed a $300 million renovation on the ship, so it will be fun to see how things have changed!

Last minute craziness!

Kevin and I are scrambling, trying to get things packed and tie up loose ends before we go.  The idea of packing for almost two months is daunting!  I have all my camera gear and other electronics packed, but have yet to start on my clothing.  I’m only allowing myself one big suitcase, so I’ve got to streamline as much as possible.  Kevin is much better at this than me; I typically end up bringing way too many items, whereas Kevin usually packs in half the space and always seems to manage to have a fresh, cute look everyday.

Kevin’s last day at work before starting his Coffee Break was last Friday.  My last day is the day before we leave, so while Kevin is taking it easy, finishing things up at a leisurely pace, I’m still stressed about preparing the pharmacy for my absence.  I know it’s going to be hard on my co-workers to have me gone for so long; having to work with float staff can be frustrating.  I’ve divided up my managerial duties among the staff, and I just have to cross my fingers that everything is going to go well.
